Why we do it: It all started with a conversation about what the very best model for normal pregnancy care would look like. We decided it is having your own team from the moment you find out that you are pregnant right through until you are settled into a happy routine with a thriving baby. It is having your doctor with a special interest in your pregnancy and your new baby but who is also happy to answer your more general medical questions. A doctor who collaborates closely with her obstetric colleagues to offer the best evidence based care. It is an experienced midwife who knows your history and can provide continuity throughout your pregnancy. It is a sought after clinical psychologist who is available to guide you and your family through this huge life transition and ensure your baby is born to a soft landing in a beautifully prepared family. It is having access to a lactation consultant at the stage that it is most helpful for you - and before you are feeling alone and overwhelmed. It is knowing people are there for you and that you matter to the people who look after you.
So, we started Stork Pregnancy and Newborn Care.
(Please note that we do not do home births but rather work collaboratively with your hospital as part of the shared care team to ensure a safe delivery for your baby)
